My 1st day of Sheridan going to School

Okay there is no short version, sorry. I woke almost every hour on the hour last night. Yes! I was nervous about my little girl going to school. At 6am I fell back asleep and was sleeping good, only to have the baby wake me up for a bottle. No point in going back to bed, because Sheridan is going to get up in 20 minutes!

I woke her up at 7:20AM......

Me: "Baby girl, Time to get ready for school"

Sheridan: (stretching and moaning) "I just want to go back to bed"

ME: (Laughing) Come on, it's your first day!!!!!

She sits up, smiles, and agrees. She picks Cheerios and put her clothes on. She is coaching me the whole time. "You will be okay momma, don't be sad". She was so cute! SO we ALL are heading out the door and Aaron reaches back in the door and locks it! As he is pulling it closed, I say, "KEYS!". Of course I didn't grab keys because we are walking 3 houses down to the bus stop! Why lock it????!!!!! He panics, turns around, turns the handle, duh locked!!!!

So I told him, "oh well...lets walk her to the bus stop and figure out the rest later". So here is when it gets cute. She sees her friends and is standing by them. The bus pulls up and the kids get in a straight line, waiting to cross the street. Sheridan just stands there! I forgot to tell her that part! So I kinda yell, "Sheridan get in the line Honey!" She looks at them and goes to the line. Then the kids get the okay to cross. All (meaning only 3 others) cross. Well as soon as Sheridan gets in front of the bus, she looks back and pauses for a second! My heart broke! She kinda froze! I can imagine the front of a bus to someone as tiny as her, is intimidating! So I said, "go on, you've got it". So I felt like a complete dork, but it was my time to coach her. The two other girls at the bus stop sat together and well Sheridan walked right up to them and they let her sit in between them!!!! Thank goodness. I felt my knees shaking at that point!

She waves. I turn to walk home with tears running down my face. Next stop...the locked front door. As I walk crying and holding my baby boy, I pray to God. I prayed, "Please, please Lord, let us just get into the house". Aaron tries the back 2doors, both locked. Then by a miracle...the front door was unlocked! Unbelievable to us! Aaron tried it and it was locked! And then it wasn't. Praise God! I think we had our angel, Jarrod, looking out for us this morning.

I asked for it

Sheridan: Mommy, what are you going to be for Hallowen?

I am thinking to myself, I am way to self-conscious, ummm...NOTHING!

Me: Ummm...a mommy.

Sheridan: (squeling) A MUMMY!!!!

Of course I just laughed and laughed!

How we celebrate Father's Day (in KY)

We decided to celebrate Father's day a little different. The girls (and daddy) agreed it was the best Father's day yet! We got him a gift too.

I can't take it anymore...

We live in a fairly new subdivison. New houses are being built on the regular. So that means we get door-to-door sales people every couple of days. It is especially bad in Spring and Summer. I mean we get people that desperately try to get us to come to their church. We have been hasseled by the Jehovah Witness members. You say no and they think that means come back tomorrow! Oh and can we say I will pull out my pistol the next time a Kirby Vacuum salesman offers to vacuum my house! They still want to stay after they see I have laminate floors!!! You name it! Meat salesman are coming atleast twice a week now. Magazine salesman are evil! WAH WAH I need to go to Italy! So what! I need to feed my baby, answer the phone, clean my room, take a shower, and excuse will I try to hold my dog back a-hole!!! It never stops. So this is the sign I made for my door:

We already go to a church.
We don’t need any frozen meats.
We especially don’t need a vacuum.
We are NOT buying.
No Soliciting!

What do you think?

My Favorites Monday

I just thought it would be neat if I told you wonderful readers a few things you may not know about me vs filling out the same ol' "get to know me" quiz.

My favorite pie(s): Key Lime & Strawberry Rhubarb

My dream car: A 67 stang!

Who I would runaway to a tropical island with: 6 letters...E-D-W-A-R-D

All at the same time sounds good.... myself in my sweet ride and being spoon fed Key Lime pie by Edward himself. LOL!

Guess what my little Sheridan said...

She has been complaining of her stomach hurting all morning. I think it was the milk she drank at breakfast. She has been lying around with a small trash can next to her, just in case she gets sick. Well I was trying to convince her that she needs to eat something. I suggested soup or maybe even bread. This was her answer:

"No momma, I just want green tea"

"Green tea?" I said stunned!

"Yes, green tea in a glass, warm"

Excuse me, how old are you? Anyways I thought it was so cute. Oh and Little Aaron is low-crawling. Yippy!

We made it home!

Ok. So we just got back home in the wee-hours of the Thursday morning. I feel really hung-over, without the drinking part. Well I won't lie. I did have some margaritas while I was there. (Like Tara) I am so tired from the 16 hour car ride! Not to mention, in the van, there were 4 kids all under the age of 5! Tara and I do have a funny Prison-bus story though! I think I will post my version of the story tomorrow. Sorry for the suspense. I just want to upload all my pics right this second. Oh and I truly believe “most” men can’t do what we women can do. At times it was the most chaotic time I have ever experienced! However, the trip was so much fun. It was great seeing everyone. I had a blast. I was so sad to leave! Below you will find some of my favorite pictures. I will email you the album of the complete trip though!

Nothing important just an update

-3 day count down until we leave and head to Louisana for Drew's Graduation.

-I am having to take the baby to the Dr.'s tomorrow. I think he has an ear infection. He is eating and sleeping fine, he just is grabbing at his ear and has a runny nose. No idea how much it is going to cost me...probably just an arm. lol.

-Oh and Sheridan got $15.00 dollars from her birthday cards and wanted to go to the movie theatre, so we saw Monster vs. Aliens in 3D! Can we say OUCH! I have 20X10 vision and I had a hard time stopping my eyes from refocusing. And yes, I was wearing the goofy glasses. Anyways, it was adorable how Sheridan got so excited about the 3-D glasses. As soon as the first objected appeared to jump out at her, she squeled, "Momma! Things are coming at me! This is so cool!" Of course she yelled this over the loud theatre and as she said it, the room got quite and it was if she was yelling. The people around us thought it was cute and they laughed. Then the second time something came at is, it moved real fast and Sheridan jumped real high. She looked at me and said, "Whoa Momma, that one scared me!". She had a ball!

Anyways that is about all I can think of for the moment! Love to all!

My Big 5 year old

I can't believe she is FIVE. She told me it was the "BEST DAY EVER!". She truly loved all of her toys. She had a strawberry shortcake cake (homemade). She has very mature taste buds. She NEVER eats off the kids menu. She told me today she wants to make cupcakes and her Aunt Tara bought her a chef hat and apron so I will be sure to post pics of that soon also. Oh and I will email the rest of the pictures also.

Sheridan's Birthday

We are having a birthday party for Sheridan on the 25th of this month. For some strange reason she wants a Strawberey Shortcake Party. She has never seen this at our house, but luckily Kroger has a -Strawberry Shortcake- cake in their cake catalog. So I am good there. I have two present ideas from her. She is dying for an easy bake oven and a skate board. I swear she is 4 going on 12! So I have the presents I plan on getting. I just DISLIKE all the cleaning you feel like you have to get done before people come over. Yuk...but don't think I will start any earlier then a day or so before.

Just my day! I just smiled my way through it.

OH MY GOODNESS!

Little Aaron has had this congested nose thingy going on for 3-4 weeks now. I knew the doctor wouldn't give me anything for this so I just dealt with it. It didn't effect how he acted at all and things seemed fine. Well this past weekend he became Evil baby. He was sleeping only a hour at a time (in the middle of the night), he screamed anytime he was set down, he wasn't eating well, and running a low-grade fever. So this morning....

7:40AM (oops alarm clock didn't go off, woke up at this time on my own!!!!)

I ran and got Sheridan and Josie up. I threw their clothes at them and told them to move as fast as they could. LOL. Yeah right! I got myself a 4 minute shower, threw some clothes on, and brushed my teeth. I got the baby up and started to change him and GUESS WHAT...he began peeing everywhere. So bathing him in the sink ate up another 5 minutes. Got him done. Packed the diaper bag. Grapped poptarts for the girls and we booked it! In the midst of this I let the dog out, turned off all the lights, and hung the phone up.

Would most men be able to do that...I think not! I know for a fact Big Aaron would have forgot the diaper bag, the baby wouldn't have socks on, and EVERY light in the house would have been on. Oh and I grabbed poptarts for the toddlers, go me!

So at 8:10AM (can you believe it) I was loading the kids in the car. Let me tell you, yesterday it was sunny and 70+ degrees outside. No not today!!!! Mother Nature decided it needed to be freezing and raining. What does Josie do? She ran around the side of the house to pick a flower! AHHHHHHH! Ok we are all in the car now!

Oh it gets better!!!!

The gas light is on!!!! Are you serious??? Just let me be struck by lightening! Get gas and I am back on the road. It is 8:20. I am driving in the rain to the doctors that is 45 minutes away from my house. My appointment is at 9am! No worries, we made it! Luckily or I would have had to throw myself in traffic.

Here is the BILL!
$60.01 Balance the insurance didn't pay from an appointment in January.
$35.00 Copay
$20.80 Charge for the visit.
$30.00 2-prescriptions.
Totaling= 145.81

And not to mention I used about 10 bucks in gas to get there and back!!!! Oh and I have to rent a breathing treatment thing from them and I am sure the insurance company will just love that!

So all in all the baby had Bronchiolitis. Which is a common illness of the respiratory tract caused by an infection that affects the tiny airways, called the bronchioles, that lead to the lungs. As these airways become inflamed, they swell and fill with mucus, making breathing difficult. WOW. That was a shock. And he has an ear infection. He might have asthma from now on!

He is great during the breathing treatments though and they help immediately. He just sits there and lets me hold the mask to his face. Which is unlike him. He has a temper!!!!! Oh and of course I had to make two different trips to the Pharmacy because there was a problem with one of them!

All is well. I just needed to vent and I am so glad my littleman feels better!

Just a typical Saturday!!!

Well, I have 2 crockpots a cooking, a roast in each. The kitchen smells yummy. I cleaned the whole house and it looks great. Each room has a candle lit so those rooms smell yummy also. I am cooking for an army, aka my family (My moms household and The Flaigs). I am also ebaying Easter dresses and summer clothes for Aaron. He is getting into 6-9 months, yeah! On top of all this Big Aaron took Maria, Hannah, and Sheridan fishing at Salt River. They came home with mud up to their shoulders! So I had to wash another load of clothes, give 3 little girls a bath, and re-clean the bathroom. It was suppose to get them out of the house not to bring a mess back! Just teasing, I am glad they had fun. Just another Saturday!

In the eyes of a four year old...

I was brushing her hair after her bath. She looks at the brush I am using and says, "Hey that is a Pine Cone." I laughed and laughed and said, "No sweetie, you mean Fine Tooth Comb".

Sheridan was laying on the couch with the baby, feeding him a bottle. She said, "Mom, I am tired. I don't want to feed him anymore." I said, "Ok. Give me the bottle". Then as Sheridan walks away, she looks at me, holds up her hand, and says, "you bit the hand Marty, you bit the hand". (That line was from the movie Madagascar)

And lastly, Sheridan and I are watching Crocodile Dundee. She turns to me and asks, "Mommy how do those green sharks grow?" I said, "Green Sharks?" She said, "Yes, the green sharks on this movie." I then realized she was talking about the Crocodile. LOL.
